Vodafone Start G5 Pre-orders

Let's start with the G5, LG's newest flagship smartphone. It can be yours for either $624 upfront, or $0 down followed by 24 monthly payments of $26. It will be released on April 1. If you pre-order one, you get a free LG 360 Cam, as well as a free second battery for the G5 and a battery charging cradle.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE was launched last year then sales were abruptly stopped when the Korean company discovered a faulty component. The smartwatch is back, though, with AT&T starting pre-orders for it a few days ago. And now Verizon is following in the footsteps of its biggest competitor, by offering the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE for pre-order too.

As a flagship smartphone, it stands to reason that the Galaxy S22 Ultra should come with a premium price tag. That being said, the starting price of 1149 / $1199 / AU$1849 (for the 128GB model) is at least no higher than that of 2021's S21 Ultra.

It does make the Galaxy S22 Ultra more expensive than the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max, which starts at 1049 / $1099 / AU$1849, but it's cheaper than our favourite phone, the Sony Xperia 1 III (1199 / $1300 / AU$1699).

T-Mobile will open up pre-orders for both handsets on February 23rd. The 32GB Galaxy S7 will be available in Black Onyx and Gold Platinum color options for $0 and $27.92 per month for 23 months and $27.83 for the 24th month. Full retail price for the S7 is $669.99. The 32GB Galaxy S7 Edge will be available in Silver Titanium, Black Onyx and Gold Platinum for $0 down and $32.50 per month for 23 months and $32.49 for the 24th month. Full retail price for the S7 Edge is $779.99.

Like the others, US Cellular says it will open up pre-orders for the S7 and S7 Edge on February 23rd, while devices will be available in stores on March 11th. The S7 will cost $28 per month with a 24-month payment plan, and the S7 Edge will go for $32.50 per month with a 24-month payment plan. Two year agreements are also being offered for $199 and $299, respectively.

Vodafone has announced pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are now live. Additionally, if you pre-oder the devices before March 6th, your new phone will be delivered three days early, on March 8th.

Most mobile phones can be unlocked to work with any GSM network provider, but the phone may still display the original branding and may not support features of the new carrier. Besides the locking, phones may also have firmware installed on them which is specific to the network provider. For example, a Vodafone or Telstra branded phone in Australia will display the relevant logo and may only support features provided by that network (e.g. Vodafone Live!). This firmware is installed by the service provider and is separate from the locking mechanism. Most phones can be unbranded by reflashing a different firmware version, a procedure recommended for advanced users only. The reason many network providers SIM lock their phones is that they offer phones at a discount to customers in exchange for a contract to pay for the use of the network for a specified time period, usually between one and three years. This business model allows the company to recoup the cost of the phone over the life of the contract. Such discounts are worth up to several hundred US dollars. If the phones were not locked, users might sign a contract with one company, get the discounted phone, then stop paying the monthly bill (thus breaking the contract) and start using the phone on another network or even sell the phone for a profit.[2] SIM locking curbs this by prohibiting change of network (using a new SIM).

In Brazil, SIM locks are not prohibited. However, the mobile carrier must inform the consumer of the existence of a SIM lock. Anatel, Brazil's telecom regulator, requires the carrier to unlock free of charge the mobile phone if required by the user. After this regulation most telecom operators started voluntarily unlocking the devices as soon as it was purchased so o
